Hey Jacob,

Welcome to the board!!

In order to help you we'll need a little more information first....

What year, make and model machine are you riding, how long have you owed it? When did the problem begin?

Just so I'm clear on your problem, when you stick it in gear it just stalls?? Does it move forward at all? Or is it when you let out the clutch lever it stalls??

Thanks!

My money's on a grooved clutch basket.

Mr.Nicholas is right if its a katoom it could be hydrolic related if not clutch plates are probably hung up on the basket and chokey wins......again.

Jacob2010 - Do me a favor... drain the oil from your transmission, remove the clutch cover, then the pressure plate, then take out the clutch plates....

Look at the clutch basket, is it grooved?

You forgot to tell us what bike you have... that would help us to help you! :D

If the bike has been sitting for a while, your plates can become "glued" together.
Do as mentioned above and while cover is off, pull in clutch lever and see if you can seperate plates easily, if not try and pry fiber plates apart.
Might help.

Ok, Jacob will often do this(by the way, I personally know yz250 and Jacob, they finally checked the site out after I told them about it), so, I will tell you what was wrong with his clutch. The clutch simply wasn't adjusted properly, so, it wouldn't engage properly. Jacob brought the bike to the zook shop, and there was still plenty of life in the clutch, nothing was significantly wrong with it.
