Title: Good trade?
Post by: Twostrokepower!!! on February 27, 2012, 02:01:42 AM
I have a 02 kx85 with low hours and some nice parts well maintained. My friend has a 1995 yz250 that is very clean and doesnt have alot of beating on it. would this be a good trade?

Meh. Could sell the 85 for around a grand, and you would only be a few if not a couple hundred away from a slightly more modern 250, let alone 125.

If you have only ridden an 85, I would suggest to sell the 85 and get a 125. But its your bike and cash, so do as you please. I love my YZ, but an 85 to a 250 is a big step...

its more condition of the bike that i worry about, i have an 84cr500 that makes me hang on pretty tight. so i think a 250 will be a bit more mellow, and this 85 is just as fast as a 125... i just have to look better at this 250

Oh, well if you were on a 500, then a 250 shouldn't be a problem. I love my YZ which is around the year you want to buy. Its a great bike. But, you should take what factoryx said into consideration too.
