Title: Best for cleaning engine ?

I just picked up a 2006 kx 250. The guy bought it new rode it for about 4 hours. He left all the mud on it and never washed it. After that it just sat for years...  I washed it and it shows like new but the engine is kind of tough to clean.  What can i use to make it sparkle like new?

When I cleaned mine off, I had a ton of oil and gunk in the front. I used a wire brush and a rag to get it all off and shine it a little. If you want to make it sparkle, then use some metal polish. Hope that helps  :)

Purple Power... But be mindful of your plastics and seals. It will eat away at that stuff.

 WD40 works good. Let it soak for a bit and use a tooth bush.

I though Purple Power will eat away at the aluminum and make it look horrible? I have only used Simple Green and some elbow grease. It works, but not as good as a grease cutter like Purple Power would, I suppose?

 I used purple power on my ktm 1 time & it will be the last time period!! I now use either simple green or Motorex cleaner & they both work great! The problem I had with purple power is even when I diluted it 50/50 it still left very ugly stains on the rear fender. Luckily I noticed what it was doing to the white plastic fender before I used too much of it on the rest of my bike!
