Hi all - read the FIM MX2 is 250 four strokes race against 250 two strokes in this year's world championships.
Is that true ?

I believe the FIM officially changed the rules back in 2007/08 to allow 250's to be 2 or 4 stroke for 2010 - but they may have changed that again.
Searched for the official FIM rules for 2010 without any luck - can anyone post a link to the '10 FIM rules?

Yes, early last year the FIM had changed the rules to allow 250 two-strokes to compete with the 250 four-strokes... then mysteriously the rule disappeared....
I wonder what happened??? :o :o :o
... as a wild guess, it would appear that some certain motorcycle manufacturers told the FIM if they did that they would take their toys and play in a different sandbox.....
Pretty sad actually... acting like a bully on a playground...

So that's why I cannot find the rule - Honda disappeared it ;)
Such a shame the corporations make the rules and perhaps a certain unnamed FIM official gets richer.
Come on AMA take the lead here and allow 250 racers to compete without having to mortgage the house.

abut 2 years ago i found the statement about the 250=250 rule it said it was blocked by the top man in the FIM Mr Lppolito .At the time he said it was stopped because of manufactures concerns about speed and in vestment in 4t development over the last 10 years .Since then i have not been able to find the statement on line .
