Title: Bike skipping up in revs???

Hello fellow riders! Im new here and i have an issue. My 2002kx85 is completely rebuilt from the top to the bottom. and when it is dry out the thing runs like a raped ape. However, when it is wet out and i try to get in the revs it skipps and doesmt produce near as much power. i have waterproofed my coil and my cdi and all that good stuff. I recently ordered a outerwear to try to keep water from the filter... was this the right approach or should i try something else? any help is greatly appriciated!

As in how? the connection? and why would it be in only the upper revs? ive been stumped on this forever. haha

I would suggest jetting, as I am thinking that where you are, there is massive changes in temperature between fine weather and cold, wet weather, Correct ??

Unplug your killbutton and see if anything changes (may have partial short). If not, it's in to the jetting.

sounds like to much air check for a leak or a crack in the rubber intake also look at the air screw should be set at 1 1/2 turns out .

Check your jets, air/fuel mix screw (should be 1 1/2 turns out), and check to see that your reed cages and everything leading to the engine from the carb slide is sealed and not sucking any air.

Turn the air screw out a bit. Sounds like it's running lean to me.

Ok i will try the killswitch thing. Its not sucking air.... and i think that is where the airscrew is. Which direction richens? And thanks for all the replies

Had a 98 kx80 do the same thing your saying and it was the stator . Replaced it and it ran like new

To make your fuel/air more rich by using the screw, turning it out rich-ens it, and turning it in, makes it run leaner. Your bike should be like that, but just to be safe, check your owner's manual. If you don't have one, search it online. It is more than likely there.

in on the screw makes it Richer out makes it leaner .On a fooper out is richer. if the screw is behind the slide it is a air screw if in front of the slide then its a fuel screw
