I remember watching that on ESPN when it was first aired... and my thought was, this is the beginning of the end.
You can see that the 250F would pull the 125 on the hills or anywhere that the 125 lost momentum, like when James missed a shift....
The one really good thing was that it was a terrific race...
Unfortunately the four-stroke had to be double the displacement...

Now that was a race! Too bad Stewart wasn't on a 250 2T, Roncada was only a threat because of his unfair advantage!

John as i was watching this i was thinking the exact same thought - the 250F was clearly a faster bike. i always wonder what the guys in charge are thinking, knowing that they see the same thing we did, that the displacement disparity was making for an uneven race. How could they in good conscious keep the rules like that?? The way Stewart was riding WFO he might have been able to win on an 85, but with similiar riders it would have been a route. If Mick Doohan raced motocross he would have insisted on riding an underpowered 2T, as he couldn't stand anyone thinking that it was the machine that won and not him.
