Title: Flipped my 500
Post by: Tharrell on August 24, 2011, 04:27:24 AM
Hadn't ridden my modern bikes in over a year so I took my 250 and 500 out for a spin.

After it flipped, I went inside to regain my composure and the house seemed to be bouncing!
I thought I was having some medical condition until I heard about the earthquake.
Enjoy!

One of my bikes is a Service Honda KX500AF. I've had more than a few moments on it! Your video brought a smile to my face! Glad you didn't get hurt or take out the kid with the dog!

I broke a couple of cardinal rules for big bores.
1 short shift
2 sit on the fuel tank
Plus in this particular instance, the ground was higher next to the driveway.

I always ride in the meat of the powerband but no can do on this bike.
I scrunched the rear fender a little right at the seat, I'm gonna leave it like that as a reminder.
Might even use a sharpie on the fuel tank to remind me to short shift!

btw-How do I add an avatar?

Your neighbours must love you! ("Yep,there he goes over again!").

Your bike sounds a tad lean off the bottom. If you fatten up the pilot jet just slightly it will make that bottom mid transition a little more controllable and should cut down on your rear fender expenses. ;D
