Title: Sick RM250!
Post by: RM250 Evan on April 28, 2011, 07:01:03 PM
I saw this ebay ad and just had to ask the owner some questions about his beautiful RM250!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130512267364&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130512267364&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT)

And this is what he had to say with pics:

"Hi, the yellow graphics are a brand new style that the guy who built my bike just designed few wks ago. I have a 2010 RMZ 450 front fender & number plate to go along with how he cut the side plates to make them look like an RMZ450. The frame has been stripped & all the welds have been rewelded & the guy blued them up really good & then we clear powder coated the frame, you canā??t tell from the pics but it looks wicked trick especially in the sunlight. I've tried many pipe & silencer combos & the pipe that worked the best for the tracks back east that I race on is the stocker, so we stripped it & had the kid who did the frame weld it up that so people would wonder what it is. The silencer is a super trick Pro-Circuit team issue only that is very short & has a huge core & end cap & the thing sounds just ridiculous. The motor was built (& bike) by the guy was built all of John Dowd's AMA national bikes. It is heavily modified & is definitely faster & is way more fun to ride than any 450 that I've ridden in the last few yrs. Good luck with your RM & have fun, Mike D"

Info about the conventional forks from the ebay ad.

"1998 RM250 conventional forks completely redone & set up for a 2001-2008 RM250. These forks are super plush especially on rough outdoor tracks. They are twin chambers forks just like all of the modern forks & take all of the modern parts internally. I had special collars made so you can run them with any type of RM triple clamps with zero spacer issues or modifications to anything. These are a straight bolt for an RM125 or an RM250 & go riding. I ran these forks all last year on my 2007 RM250 & they were awesome & talk about different, everyone wants to know about them & ride the bike. RG3 of New Jersey rebuilt & revalved them last year & Paul set them up awesome. These forks in like brand new condition & you'd never think they were 1998 forks."

Enjoy

Don't think I could be bothered welding round a stock pipe to make it look factory. Alot of work for abit of bling.

Not a bad looking bike but the plastics don't look too different.

Nice bike, I had a 98 RM 125 with conventianal forks, they where better than other 98 bikes, but not as good as 04-06 cr125 forks. The 98 rm forks where revalved by pro-action.
