I miss my RM. :'(
Good memories.
-
I must be missing something besides the shock and the forks where's all the A list stuff? For a $1k for an engine it would want to have at least 50HP at the wheel.
-
Yeah, 2T is right, it is super trick nevertheless.
-
Bad MoFo! Is that what it started out as in your avatar, Evan?
-
Very nice! I do have a dumb question, but what is all involved in A-Kit suspension? I have heard of A-Kits before and saw the hefty price tag, but what makes it so extreme?
-
Sharpest RM250 I,ve ever seen, good job.

Haha sorry it isn't mine, its snow816 in the vitalmx link at the bottom.

What a sweeet RM-250! Makes me miss my old "98" RM-250, It was built for MX racing but not nearly as good as that gorgeous Suzuki RM-250! Thanks for the pic bro. :P

sick as hell

what is all involved in A-Kit suspension?
The internals are all machined to much higher tolerances
than the mass produced pieces. Everything gets a slick
coating (Kashima or ti-nitride) to reduces friction and
shilling. The fork lugs and shock clevis are billet. The
parts are oversized compared to stock (49mm fork tubes,
18mm shock shaft). The fork intermals are designed like
the shock in that the cartridge rod is sealed and pressure
ized. The biggest improvement comes from the adjustability.
The suspension can be valved and sprung to near perfection
for each rider. The difference when riding is incredible.
Coming up short on a double that would have ended badly
with the stock suspension is now a fully recoverable non
event. The action is plush and predictable and gives you
the confidence to push much harder.
Below is a picture of my PC shock that is set up for my
CR500AF project. Notice the 18mm shock shaft and CNC
machined clevis.
The stuff is pricey, but worth every penny IMO.

Nice! Thanks for the information. I suppose I'll buy a set for the CR 250 when I win the lottery. lol
-
Thats one beautiful piece of machinery :D id give my left one for that.........
-
Lol I donno about giving either of em but that sure is a nice bike
-
Does any one know how A-kit suspension compares to aftermarket brands such as ohlins? Because in england A-kit front and rear is £6000, but an ohlins shock can be had for around the £1000 mark
-

Ouch! that's nearly $10,000 US. You would be better
off buying a set from Pro Circuit for around $7000 US
and having it shipped.
Most comparison tests I have seen, rate the "works"
Showas superior to anything else available to the public.
I can't comment first hand because the last time I ran
Ohlins, my bike had twin shocks.

I wasnt looking into buying any, ive got a fox rear shock set up really well and my forks are working perfect, I was just wondering how they can justify that sort of money for the stuff
