Title: racing with injuries
Post by: snowboarderro on March 30, 2011, 03:44:05 AM
hello after crashing bad on the first race of the season

i was sore for 4 days

and the i decided to ride the 4 strokes in the nearby woods ,to see if i can handle it

so after 5 days since the crash stil sore,i went racing

i had some bad look at the starting gate, probably becouse i lost my throthle control reaction

and after staling the engine in the first heat,i got tangled with a thumper and the throttle stucked wide open and the bike fliped with me as you will see in the pics

overal i got 15 th place from 23 in first heat ,and 19 from 23 in the second

Bummer about looping out at the start. That's why you should always wait until fully healed to get back on the bike. But that is hard sometimes, I know.

Dang Dude your fenders broke off like that just looping it out?
I've sent my bike through many disasterous ghost rides, and head on rammings of trees and never broke a fender off.
A rather large pine tree did however break my # plate, brake line guide, and ripped the bolts through the front fender. Damn pine straw.
What plastic brand were they? I'll make sure not to use them.

Holy crap, that was a pretty good loop out! At least you contined on. If you were on a 4-stroke, you would have at least one broken bone.

Don't ride hurt! We don't race for a living. We ride for fun. Riding when you are not at your best will just lead to more injuries. It is not worth it. That is what my 42 years of motorcycle riding has taught me.
Now at some point you will be injured to the extent that you may never heal completely. At that point you have to realize that you can't ride as fast as you once could. I still race but I can only ride about once a month. It takes that long for the pain to subside to the point that riding is fun again.
I have broken my neck, broken my back twice, had 17 concussions, broken both scaphoids. have scarred my lungs to the point of only having 51% oxygen exchange rate, broken my hip and destroyed the femoral head of my left leg. These are just the major injuries that you can't fully heal from. I have also broken both legs at the same time, broken legs at different times, dislocated my right knee, broken both arms at different times, broken more ribs than I can remember, broken my left clavicle, broken my tail bone three times. These were all easy to come back from and healed completely.
Not all of my injuries are from motorcycles. I am an electrician and that has lead to some of my injuries as well as riding bicycles, rock climbing and just having an active life style.
Living can kill you if you are not carefull!
