....and get myself a widow maker :o :o
I picked it up from a bike shop nearby for penuts, the original owner had about $1500 worth of work done and couldn't pay, so they sold it to recoup their costs.
Here in Oz these old 500's are going for nutty prices...between $4 to $6 k.
I am in the process of giving it a tidy up, so will post some pics as we go along.

nice score!!!!! is that a 92'?
-
Nice bike! I am not a big bore fan, but looks like you got a nice deal there. :)
-
As they say evo, Harden up or go home. ;)
-
to me that looks like a 89model
looks like its gone be a fun ride
-
Yep, it's an '89 model. Here in Sunny QLD we have a pre 90 Vintage class, so it will slot nicely into that.
Other than the typical Honda waterpump issues, it's solid. New bottom and top end fitted at the shop, so the motors nice and fresh.
Im going for a corney late '80's look, you know stone wash denim, def lepard and Bold New Graphics already picked up a white ceet cover with vomit coloured "CR" on the seat. ;D
Will keep you updated.

Don't forget the mullet hairdo. :D

Ah 89, The darker red threw me, my 90 cr250 is more of an orange/red, I thought they got darker after 90.
Sounds you've got alot of fun on the slate.
You need some JT gear
-
When I first saw this topic, I thought you'd bought a Suzuki TM400.
-
HAHA TM400 as in "hard to start" ;D
-
Hard to start, but easy to finish. Most of the time, when a rider gets off a TM400, he wasn't even trying to do so. Said to be the single most deadly bike of them all.
-
Really, I heard it was the 81 Maico 490 :P
-
A most excellent purchase :D
