It wasn't No Fear as a whole that filed for bankruptcy, it was some small branch of it.

No Fear Retail Stores Inc., which was once a cult brand among surfers and motocrossers, filed for bankruptcy protection in San Diego. Before Thursdayâ??s bankruptcy filing, the company had been sued by numerous shopping malls for falling months behind in rent for its retail stores. The company listed estimated assets of $10 million to $50 million and estimated liabilities of $1 million to $10 million, according to bankruptcy court documents.
The bankruptcy filing will allow the company to reorganize its finances while it continues to remain in operation, said No Fear cheif executive and founder Mark Simo. The stores sell No Fear clothing and Spy Optic sunglasses. The stores will remain open for business as the company reorganizes, No Fear said.
It should be noted that No Fear is run by incredibly talented people and they have had runs of bad luck before (Life's is a Beach), only to return to the top (No Fear) in a very difficult casual wear business.
