Title: Black rims...

What brand do you recommend? Do you guys with black wheels by the whole wheel or just the rim and lace to the stock hub. I don't know how to lace a wheel? I have gold excels...I hate the gold.

Bike is a 03 RM250.

I actually like gold rims on Suzukis & Yamahas.Yellow & black retro Yamy's that is.
There is plenty to choose from.
Excel/DNA/SM Pro/Talon Hubs.
I think they are all pretty good.
Can be a big difference in price.

I was looking through a thread with the forum members bikes and there are some RMs with black wheels...it pushed me over the edge. I've always wanted black wheels on mine! They look so much better than the gold, IMO.

I laced up a set of "pro-wheel" rims last summer. They were very well priced, and only took me a day to tear down and lace up(a very long day)
I didnt see the use in spending 500-600 dollars on a wheelset when all I wanted was the rim color. I also sprayed the hubs blue while I had them apart and now they look like a factory rim set.

I reccommed checking your spokes first, if they are in rough shape you may have a bit of a hard time re-truing the wheel.
