I need $300 more to get there!!!! I talked with Pete from TM USA and if I go down I get to hook up with those guys and see what the TM's are all about!
-
I wish man thats an awesome deal you got going there.
-
Good luck.
You will have to tell us all about the bikes afterward's.
-
Good luck, hope you make it. I can't donate anything at this time. I did last time but then you never reached your goal, that was a shame. But right now I am tapped out.
-
Heck, I was hoping that someone wanted to just chip in some gas money and go with me!!!! Wasn't just hoping for freebies! I saved the money that everyone gave me in the fall and that is part of what I am trying to use now. Thanks! :-)

if I lived anywhere close to you I would go but being in Texas it's too far for me! Good luck, what bike you gonna ride? The yz?
-
Maybe a group of Texans should go. LOL

I don't even have a car that would make it that far. Ha ha. I guess I could sell some of my bikes and buy one. But I will sell my 2 strokes when hell freezes over. Oh wait, some people in Texas think it just happened. LOL

Watson,
I'll give it some thought, I'm in Boise, ID. I wanted to go last year, but had just been down there the month before, my sister lives in Temecula (about an hour away). Did you plan to race the event in the Pro class or just watch?
-
I might be interested, have to check. When was the plan to drive down /back?
-
Im going to race!!!! I'd love to drive down Thursday but I am going to have to talk to my wife and to the other guy that is maybe going that lives here. It will more than likely be a drive down Friday, practice day Saturday, race Sunday and rive all night to get home. Thats what we usually do from LA. Its 13 hours from my house to LA. If we leave after the races and share drivers its not too bad.
-
what would i need to race and how much? j/w

I wonder what they would say if I pulled up to the starting line on a 1982 Maico 490? Of course I wouldn't be able to go off the big jumps b/c my suspension isn't setup for it. Of course even if it was setup for it I couldn't go off any jumps with me on any bike anyway :)

They would say your engine was too big :-*

Haha, ya, that's what I was thinking. Doesn't even seem like it but that bike is like 30 years old now, well 29 years old.
-
Pretty far from Louisiana. Let me see what I get back from taxes and I may can help you out a little.
-
I want to go so bad! But I'm in Ohio and just made the trip out there last Nov for the Vet race....
-
Entry fees are $30 or 40 gate fees are $10. Pro Entry is $80 and its just an open pro. Last year there were guys on 125's up to 500AF's. If I don't get to go I'm just gonna go to a Loretta Qualifier that is about 8 hours closer to home.
-
Looks like there is the possibility that I can go, what are the logisitics? Motel or something near by? We all drive down?
-
Ya we would all drive down. There is a couple hotels about 10-15 minutes from the track.

Man I wish I could help ya out Watson, but this otr trucking job that I,ve been at since november 7th is terrible.Embarasing money , the worst job I ever had, when I got home I went right to a Dr. had a fever of 103.7, with a bad head infection that got into my lungs. Yeah not fun driving from Boston to N.C. going thru NYC, nj. Baltimore,DC, then working my way to milwaukee, Chicago rush hour when your feeling nasty. So I,m going back to running into the railyards of Chicago, the money isn,t the greatest but I get out of the truck everyweek and I Love the action in the inner city of Chicago and there,s always work. That,s the only fever I ever had as an adult, physicaly ran into the ground, the truck has opti idle-a alarm goes off for 3 seconds then the truck starts and rocks back and forth wakes you up, then it,s on high idle then shuts off on it,s own rocking the truck, so your waken up every 15 minutes, the whole time you have a cold draft coming in on you, so you never get much for sleep. And driving the junk your getting a harder work out than running a jack hammer on 12 hr shifts.
-
Sorry for the last post,I,m sure nobody wants to here about the screwed up trucking industry. Good Luck to who ever makes it to Glen Helen.

No harm in posting your thoughts super trucker. If someone doesn't want to read it they don't have to.
