Reviews like that is exactly why I don't ride a "newer" KTM 300.  I know I can't afford one right now, and I don't want to make my old girl ( 2000 300 EXC) look old or feel outdated...  I've been to a few KTM days, and only rode the 144/150. but drooled all over the 300's.

I gotta tell ya enprovenzano your 2000 KTM-300exc still looks great and I can tell by the pics that you take really good care of your Katoom..! One other thing I like about your 300exc is unlike my 300xc your ride has lights & the enduro rear fender in which case my ride has neither.. :-[

Thanks maicoman009 I appreciate the kind words.  I try take care of my equipment... I have to I'm to damn cheap to buy a new bike.  I have vowed never be the one who gets to the trail head and then has to fix my bike before we go riding...  I understand equipment (especially dirt bikes) break, but I pride myself on prepping my equipment before I go riding so I'll know it will get me there and back...  (usually).

I purchased the katoom several years ago... I found it at a dealer and offered way less then they wanted...  (again I'm cheap).  The bike sat, I keep after them.  After 3 months, I got a call from the sales manager.  They accepted my price ($1,500) as he wanted it off the floor.  They needed the room as a shipment of the new CRF150 rockets just arrived...   :P   :P  The catch, I needed to pick it up that day... my only problem is that I had to drive 3 hours to their shop...  I drove as fast as i could, got there a half hour before they closed...  I fired her up and ripped around the parking lot, put her on my trailer and drove the 3 hours home.  My wife thought I was nuts, but arenā??t we allā?¦.

That's similar to how I bought my 08 KTM-300 as the 09's were already in the shop so I made the dealer an offer that saved me $1250.00 & the dealer was more than happy to get the left over Katoom off the showroom floor & I was quite happy to save alot of money! I think nowadays if possible everybody looking to save money on a newer or leftover bike should make a low offer because usually the dealer will take the offer to make room for the new models coming in.... ;D

Honestly Ford I was just joking. At least about your wife but definetly NOT about my ex-wife!
I happen to be friends with her new husband & when I go down to their house to visit my ex-stepson he's ( the new husband) always asking me if she ( my ex-wife) has always spent money like she does? So I have to tell him the truth and the answer to that question is ever since I met her she has always spent our money like the end of the freakin' world was coming or something!
 I also tell her new hubby that she's your problem now not mine....lol,lol,lol... ;D  :P  :D  ;)

Nah,what's she gonna do,cut me off :D We're on the way to my daughters soccer tournament shortly and we're going to have to kill time between two of her games so I suggested stopping at the bike shop.I got voted down by the girls of course but the wife says the money tree is dead anyway :( :)

Is that what they call it these days?Well,to be honest,I suppose I really haven't "watered the old money tree" much since my daughter was born.In my defense though,it's not from lack of trying :( :-X
