Okay so i picked up some new grips today and i decided to use the "Hairspray" Method and i used a quite powerful hairspray but to my disappointment. it didnt hold them firmly in place. The throttle side seems okay. But the left is still twisting on bar. What is the best way to lock them on and prevent them from twisting at all?

use spray paint or if you're really desperate to make it stay use 3m spray adhesive

Grip glue and safety wire.

I use clear coat spray paint instead of hair spray, them wire 'em.
Makes it easy to slid on, and is easier to remove than glue.

I actually used to use clear coat until one time it ate the grip away. I had never seen enamel do that, but I watched the grip sort of melt and the end just sort of slid off, LOL. Cheap department store brand paint anyway...

The last set of grips I put on I used hair spray. Its still holding.

I use ProTaper grip glue, but be careful with it - it is just like super-glue, and if you don't get the grip on in about 5 seconds, it will be stuck halfway on!!!

Grip glue and safety wire.
Honda grip glue works the best.

I like to warm the grip up in the microwave and turn them inside out.Put the glue on the bar (I also like Pro-Taper glue) line up the grip the pull it over itself and wala mounted, no slideing, no mess. But if you like those really hard grips it is more difficult.

Good stuff, But ya better be ready.
I tried paint, hair spray, wd-40, boiling water and probably a few I am forgetting, all with little success.
Grip glue and safety wire have always worked to perfection!

all these methods work, paint, glue hair spray, but to repeat the post above a little stronger, WIRE TIE THEM. and if you dont know how then ask someone to show you in person the first time. i watched a guy last year pull a grip off mid air over a 90' triple. as you can imagine it was all bad. guess what, no safety wire on his grips. and while were at it, you ever see a guy lose a foot peg mid triple? i did, because he didnt check to make sure the codder pin was through the bottom of them.
ok off the soap box now, i just hate seeing people get hurt, and when it was for a stupid preventable reason.

I always glue mine on with real grip glue and always safety wire them on with 3 strands on each grip,i have yet for a grip to come off in 30 years......and always let them sit for at least 24 to 48 hrs before you try riding with them

Lots of good info on here to mount your grips. You should never have one spin or come off again if you follow this advice. :D

I use WD40 to mount mine... Mmmmmm!! :o :o
