Title: Best tire pressure for sand?
Post by: Braap257 on August 03, 2010, 08:25:51 PM
What is the best tire pressure for the front and back tire of my YZ250 for sandy loamy conditions?

Well the one time I rode sand (it's not common here) I did well with lower tire pressures. It reminded me of mud sort of. So I went down to 10-12 lbs. I generally ride very rocky terrain and keep my pressure higher to avoid  pinch flats.

I run 12 psi in both my tires most of the time, but most people run 14 or 15 psi......you just dont want to run it to low to avoid pinch flats.Hope that helps

Usually 10-11lbs is a good place to start.

Yup, I live in florida. Lots of Sand/Clay mix. Usually medium to softer pack.
