Title: sprocket gearing for cr85
Post by: smmpuckett on August 18, 2011, 06:38:51 PM
My son is just getting started in motorcross racing. He is racing on challenge tracks. I am wanting to know what size sprocket gears we should run on the front and rear sprockets. He is 10 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. He is riding in 2nd gear on the turns and 3rd on the jumps. With that being said just wanted to know if anyone had on opinion of what sprockets gears he should be running.

I would think that the stock gearing would be fine.If you notice your son is struggling try going up two or three teeth on the rear sprocket. If that doesn't work you might want to get a little more "grunt" out of the motor and TSM members can offer suggestions with regards to that. ;D
