Redesigned fuel cap
Revised chain guide
re-tuned suspension
Boyesen RAD Valve will replace the V Force Reeds
New ignition map and jetting
Graphics
Pirelli Scorpions will replace the Dunlops

WOW !!! the sound from the 150... then through the 250 into the mix.... it's like 2 stroke porn...
-
I see the rad valve as more of a cost cutter than an upgrade. Sorry to the boyeson fans out there.
-
Herlings is a sick man love it
-
man is he fast on that 250 just awesome

I think we can yet again finally put the rumors of DFI 250SXs to bed... untill next year when the same bull**** rumours resurface
PS: just enough changes made so that its not BNG... its an interesting marketing technique... making lots of little bull**** changes that dont actually cost anything to put through the R&D process, but allows you to pop something on a brochure.

They update them with a few little bits each year, for instance the frame they changed last year and the rear suspension system the year before and the frame change again the year before that, this year the main change was the reed valve to save other people from having to spend money upgrading to the boyesen unit.
Damn why can't they develop them as fast as Yamaha or TM or even Husqvarna, KTM are just so stagnant in comparison.

Thats the first time I've hear the word upgrade and boysen in the same sentence! wow!

Your the only person that I've ever heard give Boyesen a bad name. The Vforce is just a cheap plastic reed cage in comparison to the Boyesen unit, loads of people around here fit them to their KTMs as an UPGRADE. The guy who had my old EXC before me had fitted one to that along with a Power wing and an FMF pipe and he's a millionairre so I don't think he would of done that because he wanted a cheaper reed cage on his new bike.

Agreed, the RAD valve is far superior to the V Force

Careful Charles they'll be calling you a sellout if you say that someones product is actually good.
-
We had a choice between Moto Tass and Boyesen for team support..
-
When did KTM find out about your choice to go Boyesen? Are there going to be any other TSM inspired updates on next years bike? Or are they just going to make a TSM limited edition like they did with Dungeys 450?
Also can I just ask if KTM supplied the bikes or did you have to buy them yourself?
-
The Boyesen KTM deal has been in the works for a while.
We purchased the bikes from Munn Racing, no KTM support this year..
-
Ahh maybe next year then if you do well enough this year.
-
Yeah, they are aware of what we are doing. They have requested a sponsorship packet for '14.
We also have several sponsors interested in title sponsoring full seasons next year. We'll see how it goes!

No Charles, its going to go sooooo well, that the MFG's will be lining up to sponsor the team for the entire (indoor and outdoor) season.
-
Haha, we all can dream. I am very pleased that we have options for next year already.
-
thats awesome to have plans in the works for 2014 already. It so good to see someone finally doing a proper effort at running the 2 stroke
-
Its gonna be like how everyone used to want to ride the ProCircuit 125s but now theyre gonna be wanting to ride the TSM 250s.
Bring on the nationals

Now that's development right there mofo's.Thas whut I'm talkin' 'bout.I'm starting to see why you KTM guys are so down on Yamaha for their small improvements year to year.
Sorry Charles,I couldn't help it.Good on you for all the efforts,it's awesome.
I've had Vforce on my snowmo and wasn't impressed though everyone always raved about them on the KTM's.I've always run Boyesen except that once and never had an issue, and they always worked very well.

....Who talks like that nowdays ?? I think Bill Murray did in Ghostbusters 2, but that was the last time I heard it.

Every single black guy on TV right now...and the white wannabe's.

As the definition says, you can say it "even if you've never talked about it before"

Numerous back to back dyno runs prove that the Vforce and Rad valve are equal through the bottom end and midrange, with the Rad-valve running out of steam in the top end as the vforce's continue making more power in the top end and overrev.
The main difference between the two set ups is:
The boysen has a single V comprising of four reed petals
The Vforce has a double V comprising of eight reed petals
4 large reed petals do not have the same reed rip surface area as 8 reed petals, end of story.
reed tip area is where the power is.

I'll have to disagree on this again.. Yes the V Force has a bit more surface area.. but they are also known to suck reeds out of position. (They are not screwed to the reed block like the Rad Valves)
The V force is also a 2 piece unit (the block and intake) extra o ring/gaskets more room for failure (DNF)
We have done tons of testing on Jeremys YZ 250's with Boyesen and V Force. No more V Force.
KTM does thorough testing, for them to switch to Boyesen there was a good reason and it's not cost savings.

I have to say that i've never had any trouble with the vforce on either of the bikes i've used it on, no reliability issues whatsoever.
And in fact the time i have fitted a rad valve to a bike it needed a bit of work with the die grinder to match the joins in the manifold and get a nice smooth flow from carb to barrel. Think i'll stick to vforce. Plus i've never seen dyno runs that favour the red valve but there are a few that favour the v force.
Also thinking maybe your sponsorship choice might involve boyesen's larger product range and rider support?
-
I personally have never had a reed come loose, several people said it has happened to them on a facebook conversation.

Vforce 2's are where its all at.
Single piece manufacturing
Properly fastened reeds
all the issues you mentioned there werent a problem on the 2's
Thats why a few of us have a decent Vforce2 stockpile!
but in saying that I've used 3's and NEVER had an issue
-
I've heard quite a few people say the V Force 2's were great

Interesting you say that, i was thinking of upgrading to vforce 3. My 09 model didn't come with 3's. I thought it might be a useful upgrade? I'm not even sure which model vforce i have, the reed blocks grey with puple vforce reed systems badge.

Have you got a JRF on your bike Total.?

Na I havent got one TMKIWI, thought about it but they're pretty pricey and i don't really mind the power delivery to be honest.
