Apparently no one wants 2 strokes.  ;)

It looks very similar to the Gas Gas.

I understand your frustration, but if you go to an off-road race you'd see, hear and smell the mighty two stroke in all its glory.  In the off-road world the smoker has reclaimed its rightful place as the weapon of choice.  You can't blame Beta for getting into a competitive market.

Cant really see the resemblance to the gas apart from

Red color theme
the triangle frame shape formed by the members used for the shock mount
and the side number panel shape

Looks like a good bike to me!

I'm not missing out on the sound and smell don't worry about that, and i race offroad on my MX bike.
In fact the MX series i'm racing in at the moment is stacked with 2t's, I'm racing vets and on sunday we had a 20 odd rider gate and i can think offhand of 7 2stroke's in that field.
Also of note is the way they're running the senior class, it's all in no cc restrictions. There's pro and intermediate class no bike restrictions. It's interesting to see how all the bikes are competitive and it truely comes down to the rider.
I just wanna see some new cutting edge MX bikes, i'd never buy a bike with lights on it.

The reason there are so many new 2 stroke enduro bikes is because of the rules in MX are keeping them out. >:-D
You can't blame the manufactors going for the enduro market where the rules are more fair.
I understand what you are saying but if it was my money, I wouldn't want to be trying to sell a 2 stroke MX bike to the monster crowd. Sad but true.

It's not a gas gas clone btw. Motor is all new made by Beta.

Na have to disagree there, ama pro racing is in the minority that exclude 2strokes. Just about every other series i can think of is 2t friendly including the NZ and aussie champs. Also plenty of 2T classes still running in Europe and as these are European bikes i don't see the reluctance to make them. Agreed they'd sell more enduro models though.
Where's the MX love though thats what i wanna know?

I agree with what you are saying but how many teenagers or young guys are taking the opportunity to race the smoker against the 4 strokes when the rules allow it. Not as many as there should be.
Don't underestimate the power of the media. ie pro racing.
Even in this years NZ champs there was really only DK and fogdog on 2 strokes.

How many EXC 250/300s is KTM selling? That's where the $ are.

Ossa, new Huskies, Jotagas and now Beta, 2013 is going to be an exciting year. Will Dirt Bike mag. run a 250 enduro shootout again?

Well, when so called "2-stroke loving" MX riders stop buying from Yamaha and supporting their 4-strokes, then others will make 2-stroke MXers. But, the reality is, MX riders that claim to be pro-2-stroke keep supporting Yamaha's 4-strokes. They won't even buy a KTM, so of course new companies won't enter the market.

Look at the radiator shroud. 100% rip-off of Gas Gas. Now, the bike is very nice looking, more red would improve it, but it is still sad to see the old plastics go. That styling was much more unique, and equally as sexy. It shouted Italian. They need to go back. Without that their is no reason to buy a Beta. They are heavier and have un-trusted suspension components.

Old Beta styling = more unique:
