Mine would have to be this of Jeff Emig 1992 MXdN in Australia.
It just screams " Keeping it pinned "

EVO550 - hope you don't mind I edited the photo to make it show up....
To me this one just screams DETERMINATION....

Not so sure that any rider of today would continue under the same conditions. Danny "Magoo" Chandler wanted to win so bad that he would let nothing stop him...
-
Well, there was something that eventually stopped him...
Anyway, I find that the old-school magazines had some of the best (and worst) pictures of all time. Let's see what I can drag up.

Yeah had my bike at this angle a few times at Manji, only I was standing next to it ;D
It is a sick photo

That pic with Emig blasting that berm is just wicked! WOW!

That Emig pic is way cool.Don't even know what to say about the broken handlebar pic. :o

When I was growing up, Marty Smith was the guy I looked up to... he was amazing and always looked perfect on the bike. In this picture he is staying low off a jump, with only about 4 inches of rear suspension travel!

While maybe not as impressive as the Emig photo, this shows the speed and style of the really old days!

The funny thing is a few years later, I had a new hero... this manic...

Had very little style, but amazing speed while barely staying on the machine. But the determination he showed was unequaled for a long long time.

I was at Unadilla the day the above photo was taken...

John,i was at the dills that day also.Man, these pics are bringing back some good memories.

Like Bob always said, you can keep racing as long as your right hand is touching the bike.

The Emig photo is the best ever. I remember they interviewed Emig, a week or so after the race. The photographer showed Jeff the picture and he couldn,t believe that he was dragging the bar that hard. He said he was pushing it as hard as he could. He beat Everets in a moto, and that,s incredible, being that Everts is a sand master. I was at Millville in 91, it was 125,s and 500,s. Emig just started coming on running at the front, in the pits there,s a mob of people 8 feet from him, just starring at him, while he,s stretching out for his moto, with his shirt off. He was real skinny, but in shape. People are saying dumb stuff like my bikini calendar chic, how much money does he make, I tell her I don,t think he,s racing for money today, he,s here to win. Others people are saying he,s not fast and his bike is slow. Talk about motivation, this is a rider on the verge of a moto win. Mike LaRocco took the overall on a Rm125, a thin Larocco.

Not the coolest ever, but a pretty cool picture:
