Title: Sleeter from KTM should give a call to Cedric SOub!
Post by: 2smoker on December 12, 2010, 11:22:52 AM
Apparently Sleeter will competes on a 2 stroke on selected events in 2011. Why KTM doesn't go get Cedric?????? Get him full time on the bike. He knows the bike already and rocks in Supercross and Outdoors?

Soubeyras won Grenoble sx. First place!!!

Seems he does not need a 2 stroke with more cc. 250 2 stroke is more then enough for him. all in the rider.

The problem is he is too good of a rider! They want their best on their four strokes, to increase the chances of winning and to sell more four strokes.

Funny you that you are saying that but Ktm still manufacture 2 stroke bikes for a reason.. the economy is shit, the motorcycle industry also.. Yamaha has a propaganda 2 stroke day and videos with  the moto press lately for the 2011..something is going on... Suzuki still sell their 2 stroke overseas..and have them in their ads.. I just really don't care about the 4 stroke era at all... totally out of the sport right now.. Can barely watch supercross more than 5 minutes.. buying mags is like eurgh.. going to the track is a big deception everytime.. Dungey is a robot, stewart is a rich crybaby...hahaah the whole industry corrupted looking for $$$..haha  hope the sport get reinvented somehow..

Sleeter tried to qualify on 2T early last season and then went back to the thumper.

IMO, Sleeter is not the right guy.  He can't even compete on the 4st!

It takes a lot of talent to compete on a 2st that is already at a disadvantage when you consider the handicap.

Cedric would have been the better choice.

wintrader,  I agree, it is the rider.

I still do not think 250  2 stroke is a disadvantage. Pure facts of laptimes point in other direction. Soubeyras is a good rider but it is not a Ricky Carmichael or Stefan Everts.

250 4 stroke laptimes are the same as 450 4 stroke laptimes. when the tracks are real heavy sandtracks 250 4 strokes have faster laptimes then 450 4 strokes.

If you all think a 250 2 stroke is an advantage over a 250 4 stroke then i must conclude that a 250 2 stroke is NOT a disadvantage.

In the old days 500 2 strokes were much slower then 250 2 strokes.

The best riders ride 4 stroke and getting paid to promote them.

But really there are so many riders going back to 2 stroke that it will not take a long time before they dominate all classes again.

I agree! Between the economy and the lack of fun on a thumper, people are coming back to the roots of motocross!

Now don't get me wrong, i'm a total 2t supporter but i believe that for the average rider the power delivery on a 250 2t is a disadvantage against either the 250 or 450f i see it at the races all the time and deal with it myself when i race against young punks on brand new 250f's. the new gen 250f's are rockets and so easy to ride fast that it's hard to compete on an old school 2t.
I ride a 2t for the challenge and excitement and cause i love the sound, if i was completely honest i could put down faster laps on either a 250 or 450F.

Imagine if they had continued with the 2 stroke r&d on the yamis like they have the 4t's. The 2011 YZ's would be insane!
