nothing compared to your hamstring , it was 10 times worse than any where else , body went into shock after about 1 hour after 3 he said your done i got up and looked in the mirror it was only 2/3rds finished , i said its not done , his reply no your done i cant even touch the back of your leg with my hand as your leg just about leaps off the bed your finished for the day .
went back 3 days latter and finished the last hours he had to do , NOT fun

I was going to get either "Semper Fi" or "Who Dares, Wins" on one of my arms. And/or "Such is Life". Not too sure yet, we'll see how I go. In explanation, Who dares, Wins is a moto of the british SAS (Special Air Service). Best special forces in the world. Semper fi is a USMC thing.
But I'd be more inclined to go Australian with: PERCUTE ET PERCUTE VELOCITER (STRIKE AND STRIKE SWIFTLY) or DOCTRINA VIM PROVOMET (KNOWLEDGE PROMOTES STRENGTH)
I've got a brother in Afghanistan, so I've got great appreciation for the ADF. I mean they treat their soldiers like shit and don't seem to care, but I appreciate what it stands for.

^^^^ As a combat military vet with two different countries, I highly suggest you DON'T get any military sayings or mottos without earning them by being there... May put you in an awkward situation by causing offence with whatever Marine, Soldier, Legionnaire, etc... Do what you will however as most do. Tell your Brother Thanks and to stay safe btw..
I had considered this. To be honest I don't like how people consider such sayings bragging rights. It seems a little silly that someone like me shouldn't be able to show their appreciation for the sacrifices they make. But I've never been shot at, so my opinion on the subject is null and void.
He is in the Intel Corps so its probably the safest one. But theres no lesser link in the chain, so its an important job nevertheless.

From an outsiders perspective, mottos are just silly words... To the people that have lived and earned those sayings through blood and sacrifice, it is more than you will ever realise. I get where you are coming from, but certain things like this musn't be treated lightly. Trust me Stu, it is a brotherhood that stays with you forever and to understand this, you have to "be there".

I don't claim to understand it and I never will understand it. Well as far as my crystal ball will let me see anyway. Its weird though. Have you ever heard of the Rats of Tubrouk? I can't spell it... Anyway I can't remember what the story was but alot of the descendents of the poor bastards who were stuck in that situation get the Rats of Tobrouk tattoo. Thats different I know but I thought I'd mention it.
Such is life is looking good at the moment.
