hello i am new on this forum i live in belgium and on the 17 august 2011 i bought a tm 125 for a verry low budget!the goal is to built a very nice race ready 2 smoker for a low budget. I choose for the tm beaucuse i always like these bikes and because i want something diffrent and original
-
the bike that i bought was in verry bad shape!the guy who owned it didnt used sealings in the engine only kit the bearings where complete ruined, suspension whas leaking, wheels doesn't spin right, engine doesnt run smooth the only 2 things that looks good was the plastics on the bike and the cilnder that only a few houres ago has been replated.sorry for my bad englisch!
-
good luck with the build and update with pics as you go
-
the bike is finished i am just looking how i have to post the pictures
-
some pictures of the bike when i bought it in these pictures it looks better then it really was . Sorry for the bad quality of some pictures i made them with my cell phone

the stripping down of the bike can begin!the frame needs a powder blast and some new powdercoating!
-
this is how the frame was after it had i new powdercoating i also decide to give it a black color and put a new head bearing in the frame
-
the wheels are also repainted and put new spokes in it.
-
after this whas done i begin to strip down the engine and get my first order from my local dealer mx-limburg.i decide to give the engine a full rebuild and give it some decent engine seels.all bearing will be replaced, new piston, crankshaft, new clutch basket and plates, second and third gear, gear forks, new carbon reed valves.also i replaced al the bearings in the link system and give the carb a rebuild.
-
-
-
the engine after the full rebuild!also every bolt has been replaced!A big thanks for tim swinnen a local mechanic who helped me out with the tricky parts
-
I polished the swing arm pff it was a hell of a job
-
some old parts that came out of the engine.

after the engine has been rebuild and the front and rear shock also get a complete rebuild.the assemble of the bike can begin.
-
-
and one of my favourite pieces,i had to weld on the original pipe to make it fit.

-
and then when its almost assembled i tried to start it, that whent well! but then i saw this!
so after i consider it for a few moments i decide to strip it down again and powdercoat it for the second time
-
the bad powdercoating has one advantige.Because i think the original new tm footpegs where much to expansive i cut off the holders for the footpegs and rebuild it,so i can make ktm footpegs fit they only cost 50 euro for new ones. after that was done i send the frame to a mate to powdercoat it again. In the time i waited for the frame i orded black plastics because i want the bike fully in black. i order the black plastics at my dealer and sponsor mx-limburg,he made me a good price!i made also an example for the decals and thanks to him a few weeks later everything arrives at my home!
-
i also made an example of a special seat cover and i let it made by a specialised company the result i more then i expect!
The exhaust i also replaced for a verry beautiful one specail thanks to bart!!
-

Nice ride.
I have been trying to find a cheap TM125 as well.
I should have bought 1 a couple of years ago that was dirt cheap.
-
thanks riffraff and chrisshire!@tm kiwi this one was really cheap but also in verry bad condition but in belgium tm doensn't sell verry good!for example i now there is one for sale for 1200 euro is a tm 125 from 2005 i don't think that is a bad price
