Title: 07 Yz250 suspension on a 03 yz250
Post by: SSGHopkins on April 26, 2012, 05:48:11 PM
Does anyone know what I would need to do this? I have an 03 yz 250 and I have a great deal on forks and triple clamps off an 07 yz 250. Will it bolt right up or will I need something else? Also would I need to change the shock also? Is the shock better on the 06 and up?

Should bolt over no problems. And yes it is.

In 2005 the yammies received the Kayaba SSS (Speed sensitive shock). It essentially means the shock adjusts how fast it goes through the stroke and how fast it rebounds to how hard you impacted with the terrain. Thats my basic understanding of it anyway. So yes they are definitely better

Sorry, 06 and up got SSS, 05 got 48mm KYB AOSS forks which were like 30% speed sensitive while the SSS forks were 90%. 06 forks and up are the forks to get.

How do you know if it is a Ti shock?
