Title: Super X Round 6
Post by: SwapperMX on November 27, 2010, 12:40:41 AM
Super X is all go as we speak. Robbie Marshall has just won his heat on his YZ 250. This included beating a whole bunch of top factory riders, including Matt Moss, on 250F's. Awesome result for Robbie. Track looks to suit the two strokes this week. Some good qualifying results from the few guys on the two strokes. Expect some great finishes from Robbie in the finals. Woo Hoo !!!!!

A good ride by Robbie in the finals, with a tough format which eliminated the lowest five placed riders, until the last race which decided the top 5 positions. Robbie just missed out on making it through to the last race of the finals, after scrapping for 5th to try and scrape through, got passed after making a small mistake, and finished in 7th overall for the round. The highlight for the night definitely was Robbie's heat race win, and the crowd was going off cheering for the two stroke out front. This got Robbie a lot of TV coverage which was awesome to see. He definitely deserves it.

Yeah, Robbie is a part time privateer. Works through the week, and still manages to ride and train through the week. Yes definitely an awesome result against a bunch of fuel injected factory bikes and riders. He also had the fastest finishing time of both the heat races, giving him top qualifying position, and first gate pick. Another big confidence boost for Robbie, and looking forward to the last round in Brisbane next weekend, where hopefully we can see a podium finish.

This is exactly why the 250F's should race against the 250 smokers...  With a level cc playing field, a privateer has a chance.  There is no way he would be able to compete on a 250F against the factory teams. They have deeper pockets and are able keep the bike "fresh" and with the latest trick weight saving parts, while a privateer on his own dime...  no way.  They're happy to keep the bike running week after week...
