Technically not "vintage" being an '88, great looking bike! I rebuilt an '88 KX125 over last winter and just finished up a 1993 KX60 for my nephew. I like KX's :D
-
Yea, I know it's not actually vintage but still old. haha
I enjoyed the build on it.
Post pics of your 88 125. I have always like the 88-89 KX's
I had an 87 that my Dad and I rebuilt back in like 94 or so. We sold it.

This is when I first finished it, before I set it up for trails with the new tires, tool bag, frame guards, rear disc guard, and handguards.

I would really like to get my hands on a 88-89 KX250.

Thanks coop. I am going to go look at a few next week. I would rather try to find one local.
One of them I am looking at is an 89. It runs but needs some good old TLC. He said 300. We will see how bad it is.
-
I don't blame you. You didn't fill in your location (how come nobody ever does that?) so I didn't know what local was for you :D .

Pretty much all offroad riding in Pennsylvania is illegal. The only legal place which is public land and not a track is the national forest, which is a drive for pretty much most everyone in the state.
Out in the Northwest, there's lots of legal riding areas. I say that b/c I'm in PA right now and Coop is in PA.
-
There are more and more "riding clubs" popping up around here where you can pay to legally ride. The place I most often ride is $70/yr and they have about 30 miles of trails. Not great, but nice and close (15 minutes) and gives me a place to ride when I only have a couple hours total. One other place is much more ($350/yr or $15 weekday and $25 weekend day) but they have an MX track, plus about 2500 acres with some great trails. That is my nephew's favorite because he loves the track.

Where I live we have 100's of miles of trails in just one area, and there are many areas. It's also only $10 for 2 years, public land.
I am visiting here in Pitts and likely will end up riding some where you can't if I go out on a friends bike.
-
How long are you the area for? Not to ride together, but I wouldn't mind meeting up to say hey in person.
-
Sure, ya I don't have a bike here anyway :) I might ride with a friend tomorrow on one of his bikes.
I'll be here until next Saturday. I'm in the South Hills area
