Nice bike.
You don't see many 150's over here because we still have a 125 class and you can race a 250 against a 250 so there is no demand for 150's.

when i got to ride that bike for the ktm ride day i fell in love. when i save up enough money in the near future i think i might buy myself the 150, i will say stock to stock a 150 is faster than the 2011 250f i got to ride that day. i love the bike, its awesome.

my buddy has one.  he is selling his 09 250sx because he loves the 150 so much.  it's so fun when he's on his '11 and i'm on my '09 battling back and forth. as a matter of fact we're riding together tomorrow morning  ;D .

I think the 150 would do better against the 250Fs than a 250 IMO, unless you're over 190 lbs.

Yeah for sure but only in the B class. You have to get a rider who really knows how to ride it. In the C class, the advantage is too great. 250's are always crawling all over the C class. Every race 250's are absolutely KILLING it taking up the top 5 positions. Every once in a while a 250f or a 125 will sneak up in there.

when the 12's come out i'm gonna sell my 09. I'm overly anal about changing the oil every 2 rides and airfilter every ride I'll give every1 here first chance to buy it I keep it extremely clean its my pride and joy and took me blood sweat and tears to save up for that puppy. I honestly treat that machine like its a person lol. just got fresh chain and sprockets and fresh top end with the fmf powercore silencer mmm sounds sooo good! I think I should post a movie of some moto's at our farm track

I rode a riding buddies 11 150SX this fall and was blown away.  He also had his 09 YZ125 at the track and it was interesting switch between the 2.  The KTM had better ergonomics, better power, better brakes, turned better.  The most surprising thing was how good the shock suspension was.  Much better in the whoops and it did not kick or do anything weird.  And it was set a little stiff for my weight.  It would be very interesting to see how it works set for me.

i have an 09.  i got it used, with supposedly 10 hrs, but im pretty sure that was about 1/3 of actual ride time...  i did the top end, greased everything, jetted it correctly (it was very lean) and about ready to put a clutch kit in.
rippa how long do you go between top ends?  manual says 20hrs? 25?     i only track ride/race the bike.  i rev the piss out of it and will hold it that way on the long uphills. i don't want to risk catastrophic failure, so i'm gonna follow a conservative rebuild schedule....

From what I've heard, those manuals are designed to keep the pro riders buying a top end after every third race. I go 30-35 hours. 5-7 races with a practice in between each race. (depending on how hard you revv it, cause you don't have to be a justin barcia to make a bike go fast)

I rev this piss out of mine and got 6 months on the topend obviously thats not straight riding every weekend I would estimate prob 50-60 hrs on my topend, did it myself the piston looked sooo good, the rings were still lookin pretty good. I just change my top end based off compression tests I changed it at 130 psi I prob could've gone another 10 hrs but like I said i'm beyond ridiculous when it comes to that 150. If it's still making good compression there is no need to change it. I use fuchs silkolene comp and pro premix it doesnt have the greatest smell in the world but it keeps everything real clean and lubed awesome, no spooge either.

Interesting dyno chart from a UK mag.
Not sure if the KTM XC & SX have different engines but it is a distant 3rd.
