Title: Who the H are you anyway?
Post by: ford832 on August 03, 2010, 01:14:41 PM
So the thought occurred to me the other day after TMKIWI accused me of being the hairy, fat, mullet dude with the gun(which we all know was actually Jetz :D)it would be nice to know who you're actually talking to.For instance,if you come across as the second coming of RC and you turn out to be 300lbs and 16 yrs old or say you claim to be a pretty decent and able rider from ..lets say...NZ and ride a..oh,I don't know..say a  TM when it turns out you're an immigrant from Australia who lives in NZ but just rides a Kangaroo and breeds cane toads..well,sometimes the source is just good to know when discussing various topics. ;D
With that in mind, let's see a pic of you and your steed.(yeah,I know, another worthless topic but I'm bored again ::))
For me,it wasn't easy as I have many of me riding the bike but could only find one that the little one snapped before we hit the practice track last year after I took one of her. Here goes.....

and the little one(I know she's too tall for the bike but she says the lem is too tall for her-as usual-what do I know?)

Funny, I always imagined you as looking like Mr.T!

Anyway, I've got only, like, two pictures of myself.  One from when we were testing out the camera, and one when we were playing around with the Chainsaw (hey, this is Oregon!)

You've seen the steeds, but here's a shot that I thought was funny.

Good idea. I assumed there was already a thread like this so I didn't start one when I first joined here.

I only have one pic of me with my bike, my friend took it last week when we stopped for a break (I'm on the KX125). Ignore my circa 1998 pants and jersey. One of these years I'll buy some less ugly stuff, lol...

Well, I don't have any pictures of me with a chainsaw, but then again, I've actually never used a chain saw before.

Here is a unique photo of me few can claim.  It is a picture of me in front of a metal statue of Shakira in the middle of the night in Barranquilla Colombia.

Here is a picture of me on the KTM 495 after the paint started peeling off the gas tank.  I've since shaved it off and it's just faded white again.  A new gas tank cost $900, so I choose not to replace it on that bike.

And here is the little one on her bike.

I can say JETZ looks similar to what I expected, opfermanmotors does not. I expected you to be older for some reason.

That's weird, his bike preferences are newer than mine. :D

Haha, ya, that's true.  I'm not so big on bikes from the 70s.  I like bikes from the 80s as all my bikes are early to mid 80s.

Jetz, I hope you actually finished cutting down that tree and didn't just hack away at it with that chainsaw  :P I expected Opferman to look a bit older too for some reason  ::)

I don't have many recent pics of me, but I did find some when I was in the local volunteer fire department back in CT. I have since moved to Arizona where it's hot as hell.

This is from 2009 with the Guys from the Discovery Show Firehouse USA.

I don't have any pics of any of my past dirt bikes, although I wish I took a picture of my 1983 RM125. :(

Cool pics guys. Most look somewhat like I pictured-others not at all.
Coop, don't worry about the old gear-it has history.I religiously wore a 2000 vintage set of MSR system 6's despite having a newer set of sinisalos.I'd still be wearing the MSR's except the EMT's cut them off me last year.As I was unconscious,I had little to say about it.
Jetz-love the bike pic-but looking at the tree marks in the other it looks like you're using that poor poulan like an axe :o
You need safety gear too(which reminds me,I forgot to post in the safety gear thread.
Anyhoo,if we're down the way sometime,I'll get the little one to show you how it's done...... :D

The t shirt is compliments of my daughter. She buys me a couple every year.Among her other favorites are "in dog years I'm dead" and "my imaginary friend thinks I have mental problems" What exactly she's trying to tell me I couldn't guess. :-X
It's interesting how many of the biking types cross over to hunting/fishing as well-myself included. What kind of fish is that?

I was going to guess tuna. I love to fly fish streams for trout but have never fished in the ocean.

I don't fish or hunt, however that reminds me of a picture someone once showed me.  I think it was a wife of their cousin, first time fishing and it was out in the ocean on the atlantic.  Her first catch was a Maico shark and it wasn't a 490 :)

I've suggested that a couple times. I don't understand why so many people won't fill at least what country or state they live in. Just putting you live in California or the UK isn't enough info for someone to track you down LOL.

I think (in fact, I know) it's spelled Mako.  And this is going to sound funny, but that is truly and totally my favorite marine animal.  The Mako shark is just awesome-looking, and fast as hell.  There's debate on whether it, or the sailfish is the fastest living thing in the ocean.

That reminds me, though, the first time I went fishing in the ocean (around this time last year) my first catch was a 3-foot dogfish (which is actually a shark).

Actyally it is the Wahoo that is the fastest.
Mako's & Sail fish are close behind.
We get alot a makos here and they can be a pain in the arse sometimes. They are great sport tho. :)

No wonder the trail is nice and rocky it isn't too far away from Western Maryland and it looks a good bit like some of the trails I ride up on Wills' Mountain where I actually cross over the Pennsylvania line and end up in Hyndman PA.I could ride even further to Bedford,PA. but I'd definetly have to take a lot of extra pre-mix to make it to Bedford and back to Cumberland,MD.
