Assuming we are looking at the top 5 - 10 there and not the arse end of the field, that is a great sign!
Hopefully it is a sign of things to come.

Kind like a friend on mine son's issues...  He drank the Kool-Aid, and "had" to have a 450, as his YZ250 was not competitive (try twisting the throttle a little more)...  He traded the YZ250 and cash for a CRF450...  He thought he was king S$%t....  only to have valve issues....  they were shimmed too tight.  Now he's hesitant to ride it for fear of doing damage...  he now wants to ride his dads KX125...  sorry son you "had" to have the 450....  so either ride it, or get rid of it....  Sometimes kids (mine too) have to learn the hard way...  He's now is looking to unload the 4 stroke turd for a smoker...  imagine that...

Great photo

Boy, is that it in a nutshell or what? Great story.

Hey, anyone got audio to go with the photo? Bet it sounds as nice as it looks!  :D

Looking at the exhaust, it seems more likely to be a 250

I'm glad he's looking for a 4-stroke, but why doesn't he just get the valves fixed? How hard can it be? I know, I know. Am I on the dark side? Help!

He now knows he cannot afford to fix the bike if something goes wrong.  The valve issue opened his eyes as to the potential expenses of his bike dropping a valve or any other catastrophic problem? Plus he purchased the bike used, it is an MX bike, so it may be at the limits before an overhaul is due?  The bike with the current valve and cam setup is designed to get the most power out of the engine?  Power most normal riders will never use?

On a side note, yes my son is a quad turd? I love how many quad riders will take their 400, 450, 700 etc, and bore them out to the final limits of the cylinders tolerances as they need ??more power??  power they will never use..  Most power hungry riders don??t ever get out of 3rd gear, but they have their engine bored, ported and polished?  good for them, I hope they continue to spend their money and keep the economy moving?

This pic is a great example of what happens when we educate our young.   Very cool to see.

The local practice track has been flooded lately with 2 strokes. It's amazing to ride with fellow 2 stroke believers. I swear this past Thursday was a 2 stroke only day.  :D
