is that a normal noise? it happened on my YZ250 and my CR125 before this.
-
Does it always do it or some times?
-
And does it go away when you rev it?
-
Always does it but yes goes away when you rev it. Atleast I think it does. it might just be going to fast to hear it. Bigger pilot needed?
-
Nah, that's just a ktm noise
-
Ha.
What color is the plug?
-
Thats what a 2 stroke sounds like Stu.
Nothing to worry about. You should hear a KX250 idle , sounds terrible.
-
could be your clutch plates vibrating in the basket they can rattle pretty hard depending on the model

I thought so. Like I said both my YZ250 and CR125 made a similar noise.

White shes running lean. I already knew this I just wasn't sure if it was a lean noise or a normal one.
Thanks guys.

Ah well, drop the clip then

Ya broke it already? Jeez stu Isn't that under warranty? Ride the p!ss out of it and if it breaks use the warranty if its got one. If not, ride it hard anyways, its a new bike

KTM's don't come with a warranty....'cause they don't break..
-
mine do the same.

Huh... I wouldn't want a new bike with out a warranty. What if it had a proven factory defect, could you get it replaced or be SOL?

They have, or atleast mine did, a selective warranty which basically means an ultra limited warranty. Obviously pistons/rings, oils, air filters etc etc etc aren't covered on a motocross bike but crankcase failure, crank failure within some small amount of time, and most other limited wear parts are covered according to my warranty booklet.
-
im pretty sure all motocross bikes are 30 day warranty try pulling the clutch in see if the noise goes away a little bit.
-
All my ktms have super noisy clutches but when i pull the clutch in the noise goes away. Not all the way but you should be able to tell its alot quieter.

Seems silly. I could do alot of damage in 30 days. Particularly to a 125 In your signature, you say you have a 450 sx? 2003? I didn't realise KTM jumped on the 450 four stroke bandwagon that soon.

I think ya paranoid Stu, they all sound like it, the shock spring on my 01 used to vibrate on my 01 from new, first time I heard it I shat n thought It was gunna blow up til I seen the spring vibrating.
Just thrash the **** out of it mate and enjoy...

You're not just realising my paranoia NOW are you? Yeah all is fine, you can't hear it from the saddle on idle. The only way I can make it out is when its idling I would guess because the higher rev just makes it into a smooth consistent sound.
-
Ya I think that was the first year of the sx 450
-
Wow there you go I didn't realise KTM jumped into it that early. They drew early on the 250F aswell if I remember. Hows the 450 ride?
-
I think They brang out a 400 first if I remember right in 01 or 02
