Yes a model airplane motor.. something like a 1/4 horsepower out of one of those tiny little things!

Well, if you mounted a dozen of them, you'd get the most maintenance-intensive 3hp bike ever created, I guess.  I'd just as soon us a chainsaw motor, and you could even keep the chain!

I think it would be cool to mount one on a tooth brush

Margaritaville never looked so good! Hang on to the handlebars and throttle up the best blended beverages this side of Key West. Take your pick of either a 2-stroke, 43cc or 4-stroke, 23cc variable-speed gas engine to blend your favorite party drinks. The stainless steel pitcher detaches for easy pouring and cleanup. The 4-stroke models feature 36 in. telescoping legs that adjust for convenient use and compact storage, while the 2-stroke models have a fixed frame with a durable polyurethane coating.

this is a prime example of a 2-stroke Diesel low compression, due to the glow plug on the head

Super expensive to run since the fuel for those engines cost at minimum, $20 per gallon.

You can do better, say 37 of these

for a total of about 244ccm and some 140hp.
Now we are talking maintenance-intensive... ;)

Edit: Here's one in action:

Very cool... of course the idea stated in the OP was silly...

... but a two-stroke motor that screams to 30,000 rpm!! And in that model airplane flys at over 200 mph!! That is COOL!

Silly idea gets silly answer. ;)

I have raced such stuff (F3D) since 1995 or so, could not resist posting on that bait..

EDIT: It actually was about 30,000rpm stationary. Should have been about 33-34 krpm in flight, if set up correctly.

I would say you'd have an old Maico killer with a less intensive maintenance schedule-tee,hee.I really need to stop drinking and go to bed ::)

Yes, you should.  When you get up we can talk about the longevity benefits of piston-port induction and steel clutch components.

Longevity yes, performance, nope.

Actually,I'd like that.Maybe after we're done thrashing that about we can discuss the superiority of a 1bbl flathead engine as compared to a modern day dohc efi unit. ::)

I'll take a flathead with triple Strombergs anyday   :P

Well, I'm not going to argue flat-head, but I can tell you you'll never get a DOHC motor to work properly in top-fuel!  Ford tried to field a SOHC engine for a period, but they were so much more complicated than the pushrod Hemi that the mechanics didn't have time to do what they needed to do between races, and they often had trouble running smoothly on the strip.  They only time they beat the Hemi, was also the time they got Ford factory backing, and set a top-fuel budget record that stands to this day. :D

Hey, I've done some serious ass-kicking in Forza 3 with my '70 Challenger at Laguna Seca. :D

Besides, you were talking about the motor, not the chassis and suspension around it that take it around turns.
