Title: Family Air Cooled Yamaha Day
Post by: citabjockey on May 25, 2014, 05:03:33 PM
My daughter and I hit the trails for a bit yesterday, she on the "modern" bike, me on the 40 year old 175. Its getting to the point where on trails that are not too technical I would have a tough time pulling away from her when I am on that CT3. She looked more comfy on that IT than I have ever seen her before (and this after a 3 month period of ridiculous school work that kept her off the bike). When following her I would think to myself "yes, thats where I would stand, yes that was a good line, yes good speed holding over those roots" and so on. Nice day out.

We traded bikes for awhile too. She looks really comfy on the CT. It really matches her size quite well (she is a tad over 5' to the IT is pretty tall for her). Looked like she was having fun on it too.

When we pulled up at the truck I ask her "so do you like riding that bike?".

"No, it has no brakes,  and the clutch pull is almost as stiff as the suspension!".

I guess she has yet to be bit by the vintage bug (and I guess I should service the clutch cable and throw out mechanism!).
